Lemon Myrtle essential oil
is
manufactured from the
leaves (Backhousia
citriodora) of the
Family Lamiaceae, the same
as tea Tree and Eucalyptus. It
is grown predominantly in
Northern Australia
The plant is named after
the English Botanist, James
Backhouse.
Lemon Myrtle shares the
same antiseptic and anti
microbial properties as Tea
Tree and Eucalyptus but has a
much more pleasant lemon
smell.
It has recently started to
become known by
aromatherapists.
Lemon Myrtle is used in
cooking as well as in
healthcare but should be
avoided during
pregnancy. |
