Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil, Pelargonium graveolens is grown mainly in France and is often called Rose Geranium because of its rose like aroma.
Often seen in hedgerows, it is a hairy, perennial shrub which stands about 1 metre high, with pointed leaves, serrated at the edges and with pinkish – white flowers
Geranium oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the flowers of the herb and its usesand therapeutic values include, astringent, haemostatic, diuretic, antiseptic, anti-depressant, tonic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic and anti infectious.
Blends well with basil, bergamot,
clary sage, fennel, grapefruit, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon, lemongrass and
neroli essential oil.
Precautions: The oil is non toxic, non irritant and non sensitising. It can cause sensitivity in some people and due to the fact that it balances the hormonal system it should be avoided during pregnancy.
Methods of use: Apply externally. Common uses and therapeutic values include, astringent, haemostatic, diuretic, antiseptic, anti-depressant, tonic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic and anti infectious.
Cautions: Avoid during pregnancy.
