Hyssopus officinalis of the lamiaceae family. A very potent oil produced by the steam distillation of the leaves and purplish blue flowers. Our resulting pale yellow oil has a sweet top note with warm herbaceous undertones. Whilst non-irritant and non-sensitizing it can be considered a neuro-toxin. Therefore the concentration should be kept low, one percent or less. It should be avoided by epileptics or at any time during pregnancy.
This oil should be used with caution, as it is quite aggressive. Use on bruises in a cold compress or on rheumatism with a hot compress. Sometimes favoured by therapists working with people who train hard for athletic events.
Methods of use: Bath, vaporisation, and massage.
Cautions: Not to be used by epileptics. Do not use during pregnancy. Do not use on babies or children. Use in concentrations of 1% or less.
